February UFO/Monochromatic Challenge

My plan last month was to get this quilt finished, including quilting and binding, but the quilting gods were against me. I had such terrible problems with the thread shredding and breaking that I only got 1 1/2 rows quilted before I ripped it all out. I had this problem at the same time last year and I think it has to do with it being winter and the heater is on, drying out the air and thread. When I figure out how to "moisturize" my thread I will try again. The name of the quilt is Violaceous! I used an online thesaurus to find synonyms for purple and that was one of the suggestions.

I love the purple quilt and especially how if you look at it from different angles it appears to be a different pattern. gret optical illusion. Might have to try this one myself.

Wow! This quilt is really something! It looks like it was a lot of work - but well worth it. It's really stunning. Great name too!!

It's a great quilt! I've heard people use Sewer's Aid to condition their thread, as well as soaking the whole spool in good quality mineral oil (I know it sounds weird, but doesn't stain your quilt). Maybe one of those would help? Anyway, it's lovely!
