Design Wall Monday

I haven't posted anything in six weeks because I haven't really worked on anything during that time. Life has been getting in the way. I did start a new project. This will be a wedding gift for a good friend of my daughter. She's getting married in April so I better get going. The pattern is called Beach Party and it's from the second Nickel Quilt book. I changed the four-patch blocks so they would form Xs instead of diagonal stripes.

I also made a trip to the Valley of the Moon Children's Home last Friday and dropped off 29 quilts, pictured below. I dropped off 6 quilts at the San Antonio Childcare Center earlier in the week, not pictured.

More San Antonio Quilts

Monday, February 16, some of the Valley Girls got together to put binding and labels on these quilts, which I delivered yesterday. This makes 18 total we have provided for the San Antonio High School Childcare Center.

Tamara made this top and I quilted it...

I made this one...

And this one...
And this one. Tamara picked out the color scheme.

Joann made these two quilts and I quilted them. The flowers was a top she donated.

Tamara and I made this one afternoon to try out this simple pattern. We loved it! You can put this top together in a couple of hours and a couple more to quilt it.
I made this one with leftover blocks from Second Saturday a couple of years ago.

This one I made to clean out my scrap bin. It's the Sunnly Lanes pattern from the Nickel Quilts book.

Here are four more quilts for the San Antonio Childcare Center. The first one I made. I loved it so much I bought more fabric so I could make another to keep!

This one was donated by a friend of Tamara's from her embroidery group. It's hard to see but all the white squares have machine embroidered motifs.

These two quilts were donated by a friend of Joanne's.

This is the quilt I made in the Kaffe Fassett class at Houston. It's called Glorious Diamonds. Kaffe made some very nice remarks about it in class. It's about 48 x 72. Now I just have to decide how to quilt it. I have lots of left over diamonds so I may make more of these.

Here are the five quilts I dropped off at the San Antonio Childcare Center Tuesday. The director was thrilled. Thanks to the Valley Girls for help making them.
